No-cost flu shots not always no-cost

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I called Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Texas and they told me my flu shot would be free if I got it at CVS. When I went to my local CVS, I was directed to the MinuteClinic for the shot, where I confirmed that Blue Cross / Blue Shield was "in-network." Now, two months later, Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Texas tells me there is a $25 co-pay because the claim was submitted by a clinic (a medical claim) instead of by the pharmacy, even though there was no option to receive the shot from the pharmacy. CVS says I need to take it up with Blue Cross / Blue Shield. Blue Cross / Blue Shield says the claim was submitted "incorrectly." I say, CVS's big ads for NO-COST FLU SHOTS are deceptive and misleading.

Blame your insurance. If I were to tell you that gas is free and then you go there and they charge you, who are you going to blame? You're an imbecile.

Guest

Why are you complaining about CVS? It was your INSURANCE COMPANY that incorrectly told you the flu shot was free. Why don't you direct your complaint to them instead?

Guest

Next time, read the small print, under where it says "No-cost flu shots". You'll learn.

Flu Shot NOT As Easy As They Make It Sound!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I live 20 miles from the nearest minute clinic, so I wanted to call to confirm they have the flu vaccine on hand before I drive my kids up there for their shot. (Which will be free with our insurance.) Unfortunately, you cannot call any Minute Clinic directly and you must call their national call center. I called the call center and asked if my local Minute Clinic has the flu vaccine available. Monique answered, took my name and phone number ("in case we get disconnected," she said.) Monique told me she can't confirm if they have the vaccine, but she proceeded to tell me the location hours, policy and procedures, and how I need to contact my insurance to confirm the vaccine will be covered. (Already done.) I asked her, again, if she can tell me before I drive the 20 miles each way, if they have the vaccine on hand. She said she cannot. I explained that calling this number, where she answered, is my ONLY option for contacting my local Minute Clinic and that their website, and even the number I called, says that YES, YOU CAN confirm if they have it. She again states she cannot. I asked for Monique's employee ID and she said she does not have one. I asked to speak with her supervisor. She said she does not have one. I asked what the name of her call center is and she sat there in silence. She asked if she could place me on hold and I said no. She placed me on hold. After a long hold she said she was transferring me to her escalation team and then she hung up on me. I waited for her to call me back, since that's why she said she was taking my phone number at the beginning of the call...in case we get disconnected. The lack of a return call confirms that we did not, in fact, get disconnected. I called back and a very nice girl named Corsica answered. She confirmed easily for me that none of the Minute Clinics anywhere around me have flu vaccines. (That's a whole other issue.) Corsica also confirmed that Minute Clinic call center staff in fact DO have an employee ID, DO have supervisors, and their call centers DO have names. Don't believe the radio and TV commercials that make it sound like getting a flu shot from CVS is easy. There is NOTHING easy about it. I can only imagine the chaos that must ensue once you actually find a location that has flu vaccine on hand.

Your beef should be with the call center; a different company with idiots like "gladtobegone." She was fired for incompetence and is living a miserable life.

Guest

There is no direct phone number because retail clinics don't have front desk personnel. The phone would ring in their office while they're with a patient.

Would you like your phone to ring constantly when your hand is up a strangers ***? I didn't think so!

Common sense. Call the 800 number they give you.

Guest

I worked at one of the call centers in customer service and you are right we do have an ID, a supervisor and access to how many flu shots are available. The supervisors usually don't take calls and are not very helpful, but they are there.

I am not surprised the agent gave you all of the worthless information before she gave you the answer you needed. They are trained to do that and as far as getting your phone number they only get that to sell to other telemarketers and by asking you for it they are violating Federal HIPPA laws. It is very typical that they are out of the flu vaccine this early into the flu season and you are lucky you actually talked with someone who was nice enough to give you information. The call center that you called was Xerox, either in Greeley Colorado or Madison Mississippi.

They are both snake pits. If I were you I would stay as far away from Minute Clinic as possible.

Minute Clinic - Doctor Review from Durham, North Carolina

Went to the minute clinic with bronchitis. After an hour and a half wait she strongly rise me to go to urgent care. The nurse practitioner told me she heard crackling in my lungs. I went to urgent care next day and the doctor said she heard nothing in my lungs and then took an x-ray. All negative This also happened to my daughter last year when she had the flu. It appears you're worried about liability rather than helping out. They advertise on their board at CVS we take care of the flu bronchitis. Not true don't waste your money or your time going to a minute clinic

You waited until the next day? Your bronchitis improved on its own as it's a viral infection.

Crackling in the lungs is indicative of pneumonia which is what the NP was worried about.

The nerve of the NP for caring about you and wanting to make sure you didn't have a more serious condition. You are an ungrateful ***; please don't ever come back.

Guest

LOL! Maybe from now on you should let the provider properly diagnose you, instead of you "diagnosing" yourself before you even walk in the door.

If you were referred to another clinic two times already, then you did not have a simple case of bronchitis or flu.

But thanks for the laughs and your perceived rip-off complaint! LOL!

Refused to treat my ill wife

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

When the CVS Minute Clinic nurse ran my wife's insurance card, she found that it was out of network. When I offered to pay the entire cost of my wife's visit myself to the Minute Clinic, she said we could not pay the cost ourselves and refused to treat my wife.

She said that they only treat patients in network and told us to go somewhere else to get her care.

This is after we had waited 30 minutes outside the clinic waiting for her to be be seen. She was quite ill, and I could not believe that she would refuse to let us pay for her to be seen and for treatment.

Smh ... another Medicaid patient trying to work the system.

Quite interesting how they have Medicaid but also can afford to pay cash for their healthcare. Perhaps the government needs to investigate these scammers for Medicaid fraud.

Guest

IF you pay cash with MEdicaid for a service not covered the state may find out and take away your benefits sooooo... your choice

Guest

It's your responsibility to check if the provider is in-network or not. You have medicaid and it's against the law to pay cash for your visit. If your wife was so ill, you should have gone to the urgent care or emergency room.

Guest

Lemme guess.... Your "out of network insurance" was Medicaid, wasn't it?

You conveniently neglected to mention that it is AGAINST MEDICAID POLICY TO PAY CASH FOR YOUR VISIT as you are REQUIRED to see the physician assigned to you and noted on your Medicaid card. Your attempt to pull a fast one over on MinuteClinic did not work -- and that is no one's fault but your own.

Guest

That's terrible. At the very least you could have been given a reasonable explanation as to why you weren't allowed to pay out of pocket, not just some random "you're not in network" junk. Sounds like the practitioner and the person who commented before me, lack empathy.

Guest

Some insurances (if not contracted with the minuteclinic) will not reimburse the clinic if they see and treat the patient. It is a business so basically, they refused to see and treat your wife for free.

Doesn't matter how long you were there waiting. It was your choice to sign and in and wait. Doesn't guarantee you will be seen and treated. Why would they want to take on the liability they take on with every single patient and then not get paid.

Even if you offer to pay out of pocket, it may be against the law to see certain patients even out of pocket is the insurance says so. Example- it is against the law to see Medicaid patients not contracted with the clinic if they're plan states that they MUST go to a specific primary care doc.

So anyway, the nurse practitioner has the right to refuse to see you. Sorry.

Medical: False advertising; poor service and care.

While I waited and was treated at my own free will what I learned in this process is valuable and should be known by all before you go. Up front KNOW, READ, ASK how long before you will be seen. Find out the credentials of the person you see. Be prepared to NOT receive the same attention or care you would by your own physician. Be prepared for a wimpy assessment and erroneous information placed in your record! Knowing what I do now I SHOULD HAVE SLEPT ALL DAY AND CALLED MY OWN PHYSICIAN THE NEXT DAY. Still sick a week later not going back!

What exactly was "false advertising" about it?

Guest

1. You don't have to ask how long the wait is because it's right there on the kiosk.

2. You will see either an NP or PA; it's right there on the name badge; again you just have to look.

3. What exactly is a "wimpy assessment?" Are you expecting a full physical exam?

4. You had a viral disease which takes 7-10 days to get over; that's why you still "feel" sick.

5. Don't ever come back; nobody cares and you won't be missed.

Guest

These are acute care clinics, not somewhere you're supposed to get a full yearly physical. Remember that when choosing to go there.

I agree with you when you say "be prepared to NOT receive the same attention or care you would by your own physician." You're absolutely right.

Be prepared for better care. Please, do us all a favor and stay away from Minute Clinic.

Guest

If you had the same issue why didn't you immediately go to Urgent Care or the emergency center if you've been sick for a week it sounds like you are not being responsible taking care of yourself and following up with your physician don't expect the impossible be realistic if you go to your physician your usually with an appointment going to wait at least 30 minutes there for give these people some respect they gone to school for a long time and if you didnt think they were legitimate you would've been there maybe you're a disgruntled customer

Guest

I worked for Minute Clinic customer service and I can tell you that asking questions will get you nothing but a lot of answers that are nothing but a load of ***. The best thing to do is stay away from those places, save yourself a lot of money, time and go to your own Dr. or an Urgent Care.

Minute Clinic - Patient Care Review from Glendale, California

Minute Clinic in Njrbank CVS almost killed me. Id been to this one before and itvwas known Im allergic to penicillin. Due to sinus infection i was given scrip forc Augmentin. I tiok the meds hime a d was just about to take it, when i got a frantic call from the pharmscist...DO NOT TAKE AS IT IS PENICILLIN! I rushed it back. They had found the info in my file about the allergy and were shaken up by the massuve error. I was given Zpak and many apoligies. I thanked them profusely for catching the error and said i woumd be cancelling tge charge to my card for $99 at the clinic. I love NPs and find them more compasdionate rhan mamy MDs. The NP I had last year at my first clinic visit was terrific. The one yesterday was sloppy, never made eye contact, not nice at all. And i paid $99 for this rush job of almost taking somwthing that would have killed me. Id have spent longer at a Taco Bell drive thru. Minute Clinic...you misssc a huge lawsuit.

The pharmacy and MinuteClinic are not affiliated. Sounds like the pharmacy screwed up as they had that information on file and you assumed the MC had the same records. You failed to inform the NP of your allergy.

Guest

Canceling the charge to your card? What kind of *** is that?

They made every effort to correct the error. Maybe if you had made clear to the NP in the clinic that you have a penicillin allergy, this would not have happened. I place the blame on you, the patient, for not communicating effectively.

And then to try and cancel the charge? TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for your lack of communication.

Guest

I worked for Minute Clinic customer service, which is really just a bunch of under qualified workers with no work ethic in a call center ran by Xerox (which is a very, very bad place to be right now) and I am not surprised they prescribed you medication you were allergic to. The providers do that all of the time.

I used to get calls from Medical Doctors all the time about that because the patients would get sicker after going to Minute Clinic and go to their regular M.D. and their Doctor find out what was wrong and treat them appropriately. By cancelling the payment Minute Clinic billing department will just turn your account over to a collection agency so beware of that.

You should also stay away from those under qualified Nurse Practitioners at those socary clinics. They will kill someone someday.

2 HOUR wait for one flu shot

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Insurance recommended CVS minute Clinic as a covered facility for flu shots for our family. We arrived at 11:25am and signed into the kiosk with only 3 clients before us. It took 2 HOURS for the Nurse Practitioner (Gabriella Badobar) in Grapevine, Tx to get us in to be seen and to give a flu shot to my 3 year old child. We left at 1:28pm… Try waiting 2 hours in a CVS store with 2 children- I am not sure why she took so long but she is definitely milking the Minute Clinic system not to work too hard!!

AND, I am a physician…

I asked at almost the hour mark and later again to the store manager and the pharmacist and they said they couldn't help and didn't understand why she was taking so long. Another client who was pregnant came in and said she had just been to another Minute Clinic and was told the wait was 4 hours so she came here.

Completely poor system setup by Minute Clinic for private pay services/access. I will NEVER use or recommend them again.

Who cares that you are a physician? Should you receive special treatment?

God forbid you have to wait at a walk-in clinic. Patients are seen in the order they sign in. You posted in December, which is likely around the time you were seen. Flu season starts much earlier.

You should have gone in before where wait times are usually a lot less. It's your fault for waiting until the last minute to get your daughter's flu shot; you must not care that much about her.

Guest

No one cares that you are a physician (if you really are one). You are no more important or special than the person sitting next to you.

When you show up at a walk in clinic, you will have to wait, just like everyone else. How can you be so rude as to accuse the provider of being lazy and riding the clock, when you have NO idea what problems the patients ahead of you have requested her to treat?

Sounds like you were expecting Minute Clinic to roll out the red carpet for you and your little brat, and when they did not you threw a little tantrum. Good riddance!

Guest

You have some nerve! Publicly posting the nurse practitioner's name along with false accusations of laziness and "milking the system" ...

Who do you think you are?!

Obviously you don't know much about karma! And, if you were truly a physician as you claim, you would not have needed the services of Minute Clinic to administer a simple flu shot!!

Guest

Gladtobegone? Are you even reading these posts?

Or are you just copy/pasting your TIRED response to every post on this site? Lol what a joke you are!

Get a job/life already so you don't have so much extra time to be such a sad case. #prayingforyou

Guest

The place sucks. The providers are idiots, the company is greedy, the care is horrible and the best thing that can happen is the public will stop going there before they kill someone.

I know because I worked in customer service for them. Their "customer service" consists of a call center ran by Xerox. The calls are answered by people with no medical training and have had as little as 2 days of training. The "medical call center" they tell you they are transferring to you is the exact same thing.

The turn over rate in those call centers is unbelievable.

The providers at the Minute Clinics are not only idiots they are over worked and hate their jobs and their patients. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from those places.

Guest

First of all I am assuming you as a physician have a front office staff that does the mundane and extensively time consuming tasks of registration, insurance verification and coverage verification etc. the solo nurse practitioner working in a minute clinic not only has to evaluate and diagnose the patient and write all prescriptions and treatment plans as well as prepare and administer all vaccines, in office procedures etc....

But she/he also acts as front ad back office staff. They handle each patients billing, the coding, etc. so yeah, it takes ONE person more time to get a patient visit done than it would take an entire medical office of staff to.

secondly, you have no idea what the other patients ahead if you were really there for. Since you are not behind those doors treating the patient, you have no idea what issues were brought up or what medical emergencies were dealt with, if the Np had to triage the patient, coordinate a referral to the ER, urgent are, another PCP office etc.

the patient could have had a million questions (as most do) and that all takes time.

Thirdly and most importantly, you did not mention you had an appointment. You were a walk in.

So the NP could have been dealing with a million and one *** situations and then you drop in from the sky unannounced, entitled (since you're only there for a "quick" shot") and try to bad mouth the Np on the Internet. Shame in you; you're just another horrible person.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-913296

I was thinking the same thing!!! Ignorant, entitled lady, just like many customers walking into these clinics.

And I hate it when people say "it says Minute Clinic but I waited an hour". Show you just how dense these people are. It's just a name of the clinic people, doesn't guarantee you will be seen in one minute.

This is why you see instructions on packaging such as "to open, twist" because there is an *** born every second. Or should I say, "minute".

Doctor didn't bother

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Here's a copy of the complaint I sent to CVS. Today (Sunday Nov' 9th) my wife Barbara Moriarty visited CVS's Minute Clinic at 214 DANIEL WEBSTER HIGHWAY' Nashua NH and were told by the doctor 'you will be the first patient to be seen after she returns from her 30 minute break.' Even though Barbara was suffering abdominal cramps and was quite uncomfortable we understood and were willing to wait the 30 minutes. We waited in our car in the parking lot as we were told by the doctor that we would be called on the phone if we were not actually in the store. After 20 minutes (10 minutes early) we went back inside to the minute clinic for the required attention. We sat on the only available seats. These were out of view of the doctor's office door, so we listened very carefully for Barbara's name to be called. Eventually after 1hour I asked the manager for assistance. Then finally I saw the doctor appear from her office and went to speak with her. By now she had seen two patients (they had occupied the only two seats within view of the doctor's office door) without checking the other seats (not in view) to see if we were present. I believe that if the doctor had looked 10 feet to her right at the waiting room this could have been avoided. We were shocked when we were told that we had been paged inside the store. We dispute this. We didn't hear a page and we were paying particular attention. The doctor also told us that she had called us. We also dispute this. We did not receive a call and we showed the phone log to the doctor to prove it. So after more than an hour and a half we refused treatment and told the doctor we would not do business with such a negligent person/company. I don't see how we could have done anything that could have prevented this incident and thus must blame CVS. In the morning we'll give our business to Health Stop. What a horrible experience. I can't wait to tell everyone I know about this.

The provider is legally required to take a lunch break. How dare you insinuate that the provider should even think about seeing you before/during lunch. For being "quite uncomfortable" with her abdominal cramps; seems she was able to move about alright going to the car and walking all about the store.

Guest

I love this response, from "Petermaddock MD":

"The nurse practitioners work in those clinics from open to close. The same practitioner who opens the clinic at 7am is the one working til 9pm.

They see patient after patient in a tiny windowless, room with very poor ventilation.

Very sick patients coughing in their face all day; all of them with the same symptoms and complaints over and over, same arguments over why they don't prescribe antibiotics for viruses, answering dumb questions, having to over explain everything and dealing with rude hostile patients who demand to be seen without an appointment and are always angry when they arrive unannounced and there are people waiting ahead of them. The nurses have no front staff, no office staff to help them with reception, patient sign in, inventory, billing, insurance verification and coverage and setting up/cleaning the clinic. They do everything by themselves--- one person running a medical office all day.

Imagine that.

But they do it to help people. They sacrifice late night hours, their weekends and all holidays with their families to keep those understaffed clinics open so people's only option isn't the emergency room.

They hit the ground running in the morning and do not stop until close..... Except for their required lunch break. That is the ONLY chance they can put something in their mouth and go to the bathroom.

If they had to go all morning, too bad. Only one break the entire day.

And you have the audacity to assume she could stop sipping her drink and cut her break short to attend you faster? Why??

Because You're sick? You are like the 80th person that day complaining of being sick. So what?? There will be 80 more people after you that day.

See? You're nothing special. It is most likely the first drink she's had all day. And the only drink she will get until she goes home late at night.

The nurse is a human being who is entitled to his/her lunch break just like you are everyday. Would you like it if someone walked in unannounced into your job during your break and expected you to drop everything just because they decided on their own to show up? The nurse didnt tell you to show up randomly, you made that decision. Why are you mad at her??

The only reason to be mad at her is if she said "be here at a specific time and I will see you immediately" and then doesn't. But this is totally your fault. She had zero control over what time you decided to show up. And YOU happened to show up in the middle of her lunch break; with another patient already signed in ahead of you.

So, sign in, sit down and WAIT until she can see you. *** hole."

Healthcare providers represent!!

It's time patients realize the *** things THey do. We need to start a complaint thread about them!

Guest

That's not true, I'm sure they were paged and the yet either didn't eat it or were not in the store. When there is an endless line of patients, you gotta keep it movin.

They can't babysit people all day. They weren't even seen as patients so they really don't have any perspective. Customer service reps do not help at all because they promise all sorts of lies and set up the practitiner with patients who have unrealistic expectations. No where in the above complaint does the patient take responsibility for their decision to go into a store rather than the emergency room for severe abdominal pain.

The store can't do abdominal scans to even get an idea of what's causing the pain.

There are no X-ray , ct scan machines there. Tell everyone about how you don't take any responsibility for your own dumb decisions.

Guest

I worked in Minute Clinic "Customer Service" and the Nurse Practitioners do that all the time when they just don't want to deal with a patient or they don't know how to treat something. If a customer called the customer service phone number we were told to let them know that they don't treat abdominal pain. I bet they charged you or billed your insurance.

I hope your wife received treatment and feels better.

Caled ahead, assured short waiting time.

After calling the 800 number for CVS Minute Clinic and asking the agent to check on wait time, I was assured the current waiting time was 18 minutes. I live 7 minutes away. When I arrived (Sunday at 4:40pm) I signed in on the computer. After I had filled in all the information, the screen notified me that they were no longer accepting patients for the day-they close at 5:30pm). I asked the tech in the pharmacy if she could check with the nurse to see if I could be seen (flu symptoms). She never offered to assist. I called the 800 number back and was advised to go to another location about 30 minutes away. She never advised that it was close to closing time. What a waste. Never again!

Unfortunately it is a walk in clinic and in 1 minute you can have 30 people walk in.

Guest

You waited too long. If you were so sick, you should have arrived sooner.

That's your own fault.

Times are posted online and by the clinic. Don't ever come back.

Guest

If you were sooooooo sick with the flu, why didn't you come in during the 9+ hours they were open earlier in the day? Waiting til the last second when it is too late to sign in implies you in fact are not too sick at all, and can wait to be seen the following day.

Guest

It's also the call centers fault by not properly reminding a grown man that nothing in this life is guaranteed and if he wanted to be seen for sure, he shouldn't go in close to closing time. But the.

Again this grown *** man should have figured it out for himself before embarrassing himself by complaining on this site about his own idiocy. People aren't dumb and they realize that this is his fault in the first place and he was projecting the frustration he should have against his own stupidity at the poor provider who never told him to come in close to closing time and who never promised him he would be seen that day.

The provider was busy treating other patients all day and this situation brewed up through no fault of their own. Yet this *** refuses to take any self inventory and take responsibility for himself.

Guest

The provider can easily post a similar complaint that the patient never called ahead to let them know they were going to drop in with their miserable self and make their day even more stressful. The patient dropped in unannounced and then had the balls to get all hot and bothered when he wouldn't be seen within the timeline he made up in his own head.

Without a clue about how the world actually works. Lol what a ***

Guest

It's YOUR responsibility to find out the clinics hours either in person, online or over the phone. It's not anyone else's responsibility to tell you especially if you don't ask them then hours.

Also, in the 7 minutes it took you to drive over to the clinic, I'm sure multiple people signed in before you so they filled up for the day.

it wasnt full when you called, but that was then and this is now. First come first serve.

The clinics themselves are really bad as well. The providers at those clinics are rude, unreliable and do not care about their patients at all. The public is told to call the customer service number to get updated information but when they do they are lied to. The customer service agents are not medically trained and have no knowledge at all about what goes on in the clinics.

The providers in the clinics can take calls into the clinics but refuse to so getting accurate information is impossible. Xerox is a horrible call center, CVS is a greedy corporation and the best thing that can happen is the public stops going to Minute Clinic before they kill someone.

Yes the kiosk is through a different company and they aren't updated the providers have 20 mins at least to see the patient that is from check in to check out which isn't a lot of time. The problem is that there is Su much out on the provider and this may also include testing for various things depending on the state you are in, urine culture, strep tests and also sports and wellness physicals, they have a lot on their plate so to say, I'm a nurse and have been in the others side so if a kiosk says 40 mins it may be less if they say 10 mins at the call center, expect longer...

Give the providers a break they work hard to ensure you get the best quality care and in the best amount of time they can.

And when they go to lunch dint get mad cause they are taking a lunch know that they are mandated to shut down and take a lunch. So have some manners and courteousy and be happy someone can help you

You were fired for lying to patients as you admit to in your post. Get over it and get on with your miserable life.

Minute Clinic - Medical Care Review from West Grove, Pennsylvania

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My boyfriend is very ill. We had concerns he has bronchidous maybe devolping into pneumonia.

I called the minute clinic. Asked if they would be able to see him and they told me yes. I got there before the cut off time for last patient to register and the. Nurse told me they were full.

This was not true there was no line or any patients she was cleaning up to head home early. My boyfriend did not recieve the medical attention he needed. We were lied to and turned down before cut off time. We had time to be seen and i would like action to be taken towards this niglagent doctor for the sake of other patients because a doctor who is more concerned on getting home early then helping care for someone with an illness that can perhaps devolp into a much more serious illness; i believe should not be working its giant arrows pointing towards a very irresponsible health practicioner.

This happened at the cvs in thorndale pennsylvania.

Please email me asap upon reading this. Asingerdonald@***.com

What is "bronchidous" and "niglagent?" If your boyfriend was so ill, you should have brought him there sooner. Thanks for posting your email on a public website.

I'll be sure to sign you up for lots of spam mail for your ignorance.

How dare you berating the provider for wanting to go home on time.

Do you not want to get out on time at your job or do you not have one? Did you ever think about all the closing procedures plus the time of your visit would have been way past the closing time?

I wish every *** who ever said "but I don't see anyone in the waiting room" while begging to be seen when the provider was closing would read that previous post. They also say "but my (issue) will only take 5 minutes".

How the *** do they know how long it would take? Most visits even simple ones take at least 15-20 mins and over 30 minutes if there are other issues going in. It's the not the patients right to be seen whenever.

They have to listen to the provider regardless. If they're closed they're closed.

Totally agree with those who replied. Just because you didn't see anyone in the waiting room doesn't mean they were not full for the day.

Often the Nurses will let a patient know they can run an errand or walk the store aisles is there is a wait. You can't assume just because you didn't see anyone there. You are not their front office staff, you have ZERO way of knowing that they are not full. You waited until the very last minute and were too late.

That's 100 percent on you. The nurses hAVE been taking care of sick people and other emergencies all day lone since early that morning. You were just one more of them. And there will be 100 more sick people tomorrow.

And after a very long day of that they are entitled to close up shop and go home for the day. You are not the ONLY person on earth.

Next time make an APPOINTMENT or arrive very early. If you are a walk-in, nothing is guaranteed.

Those who staff Minute Clinics are not doctors, dear. They are nurses and nurse practitioners.

Long ago, I worked as a receptionist in an office of general surgeons.

I remember receiving taking a call one Friday afternoon, one doctor had gone, and the other was finishing up writing in a patient's chart. The caller, a woman, wanted the doctor to stick around to see her neighbor's teenaged boy with an ingrown toenail. It had been bothering him for two or three days and was very painful. The doctor told me to tell the caller that her neighbor should take her son to the ER--no Urgent Care facilities, back then.

The caller said, "But we're just five minutes from your office!" That had nothing to do with how long it would take the doctor to look at the nail, decide whether it had to be cut out, and to do the job, if needed. I've had the procedure, and it does take a considerable amount of time. We would have been there until 6 p.m. The boy had put up with his pain for two or three days, so why did his mom and neighbor wait until 4:55 p.m.

on Friday evening to call?

You and your boyfriend should have gone in sooner. Which says nothing about your spelling, which also needs serious word.

And I should have done some proofreading, myself. I took a call; I didn't "receive taking" a call. And your spelling needs serious work, not "word."

Your boyfriend needs to be arrested for dating a five year old child like yourself. Your spelling and grammar are that of a kindergarten child so I know your boyfriend is dating a child.

Review from Powder Springs, Georgia

I have used CVS Minute Clinic now for the past couple of years for minor things for the "convenience" but today I had a unauthorized debit on my account and can't get anyone to answer the phone! I was last seen on 11-19-14 and we all know you have to pay a co-pay and I have the receipt before being seen. I don't understand who they think they are to just take money and then not answer the phone! I'm sure they don't care but that 11-19 appt was my last with this company! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND...

How can you have the receipt before being seen? That was from a previous visit. Get your story straight.
