Minute Clinic - Hours are not as listed
I went to the CVS minute clinic on River Ridge in Asheville. Although its website claims that the clinic is open until 4:30, they refused to see my grandson even though we arrived at 4:15.
He had just woken up from his nap crying and I suspected an ear infection. The doctor/PA/NP refused to see him because he would not be FINISHED by 4:30. If thatโs your policy, change your posted hours or at least add that patients entering after 4 pm wonโt be seen. I went to Missionโs clinic on Long Shoals, which is open til 10 pm, and we got great service there.
If Iโd known CVS wouldnโt see him Iโd have saved time and gone to Mission first. I will not be going back to any CVS minute clinic again, thatโs for sure.

Regardless if they would see you or not ...keep in mind you are the grandparent. Most places will not allow you to consent to medical care on behalf of a minor child unless you are the PARENT. You should consider this before heading out to the doctor with your grandkid, and be prepared with a notarized legal document in hand naming you as the childโs guardian.
Perhaps you shouldโve shown up while they were still taking patients. Aka Earlier.
Itโs not a matter of โcompassionโ or whatever excuse you are trying to come up with. It is a matter of you showing up late.
If itโs so important that your kid be seen right away and you showed up too late for the clinic, then you will have to go to the ER, just like everybody else. Maybe next time you will learn to arrive on time and not blame others for your irresponsibility.

The website ALSO states that the last visit is 15 minutes before closing. So yes, the hours ARE posted. You just failed to follow them and expected them to make an exception just for you.
The clinic CLOSES at 4:30. If you saunter on in just minutes before closing, then how are they supposed to close at 4:30?
No, you are not special and you are not entitled to make the doctor stay late.
The clinic was open for 8 hours during which you couldโve been seen just like everybody else. Your laziness is not an excuse for special treatment.
