I have been trying to get my bill straightened out for nearly 6 months. Some of that is my fault because I become impatient with the wait time on hold with them when I call.

When I went for my visit, I paid a $15 copay that I shouldn't have paid. My secondary insurance picks up anything my primary doesn't cover. I paid it and kept it moving. Then I received a bill for the entire amount less $15.

I called, spoke to someone, and my insurance was a complete mess. I gave them my correct information, then received another bill for a smaller amount. I called again, corrected my insurance again, while speaking to someone that sounded like it might’ve been their first day and couldn't figure out what my insurance was. She kept telling me I had an HMO.

It clearly says PPO on my card. She also insisted it was out of a different state than it is. Surprise! The billing is still incorrect.

I then received a refund check for $15 for the $15 I paid at the time of the visit that I shouldn't have. I assumed that meant everything was somehow straightened out. Nope!

I'm now in collections for $15!!! Jesus, take the wheel.

User's recommendation: Don’t. Unless you’re paying cash or only have one insurance to file. Two seems to really mess places up.
